First attempt at photographing Mars

It’s been about 3 weeks since we’ve had clear skies in Melbourne and I tried to make the most of it. Here is my first attempt at Mars, which I’m told reaches opposition tomorrow, and is the closest for 11 years.
This was taken with 3X1000 frames video using RGB filters, stacked in Autostakkert with the top 25 frames. I then used Photoshop to merge the RGB into a single image – my first attempt at that too. Thanks +Dylan O’Donnell for showing me how to make a color photo from a monochrome camera.
Now if you’re looking for top notch Mars photographs, check out +Kevin Franklin and +Dylan O’Donnell and you’ll see how the two insanely talented enthusiasts do it!! #astrophotography #mars #saturn Mars_Saturn_RGB
