Read moreTonight’s conditions were supposed to be good according to ScopeNights yesterday, but deteriorated throughout the day. I managed to get a quick RGB of Saturn in after some visual of Venus and Jupiter’s conjunction. Conditions must have been reasonable, given the detail I got. This is 1000 frames each of RGB (thanks +Kevin Franklin for the suggestion to increase the frames), stacked in AutoStakkert 2, and then processed in Photoshop. +Dylan O’Donnell you’ll enjoy that the colours are closer

Read moreTonight’s been the first in over 3 weeks where we’ve not had a cloud in the sky! Despite near freezing temperatures it was a good night. I tried my 3rd attempt at deep space stuff, and failed miserably again, but given conditions were reasonable I got a couple of nice shots of Saturn. 2,000 frames, top 20% stacked in AutoStakkert2, color combined in Photoshop, no further processing. Taken on a Celestron EdgeHD 9.25″ using a ZWO 120mm on an NEQ6
Read moreIt’s been about 3 weeks since we’ve had clear skies in Melbourne and I tried to make the most of it. Here is my first attempt at Mars, which I’m told reaches opposition tomorrow, and is the closest for 11 years. This was taken with 3X1000 frames video using RGB filters, stacked in Autostakkert with the top 25 frames. I then used Photoshop to merge the RGB into a single image – my first attempt at that too. Thanks +Dylan
